100 Days: Bayelsa Speaker Congratulates Diri, Says He Has Rekindle Good Governance.
TRACKING____As the PDP led prosperity government of Sen. Douye Diri marks one hundred days in office, the speaker of the state House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Ingobere Abraham says the present administration in the state has not only strengthened democratic principles but also rekindled the spirit of good governance.
Rt. Hon. Ingobere in a message of felicitation said the people-oriented policies and programmes is laying a solid foundation for accelerated growth and development in Bayelsa state stressing that every doubting Thomas in Bayelsa state has being convinced of the policy direction of governor Douye Diri’s administration which is to promote good governance and better the lots of the people of the state.
In a press statement made available to news men, the Speaker said the circumstances surrounding Douye Siri’s emergence clearly shows that divine Providence is at work and this calls for effusive expression of gratitude to God Almighty.
Rt. Hon. Ingobere noted that the governor has in the last one hundred days in office demonstrated exemplary leadership especially in unifying and galvanizing of all Bayelsans regardless of political leanings to focus on the collective aspirations of the state.
On behalf of the leadership, members and staff of the Assembly, he observed that Gov Diri has shown visionary leadership and an empathy in the management of the finances of the state as it relates to prompt payment of workers’ salaries and the ongoing payment of arrears of gratuities and pensions especially in the face of current economic realities.
The mature and coordinated approach in tackling the Covid-19 crises in the state has also endeared the governor to all Well-meaning Bayelsans adding that the firm and decisive style of leadership has placed Bayelsa as one of the least affected states in the federation.
Describing Governor Diri as one who has demonstrated competence, commitment and character with a will to address security issues he has opened up swali market area and the dreaded Tombia junction, this deliberate steps have given residents and traders a sigh of relief.
As the number one lawmaker in the state, the speaker noted with gratitude the inclusion of two of our immediate past colleagues in the team as Secretary to State Government (SSG) and Deputy Chief of Staff.
