2019: Buhari should go home and rest, the energy is no longer there – PDP
– The Peoples Democratic Party has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to go home and rest
– The party says the president is too weak to lead the country, saying Nigeria needs someone with a lot of energy and who will work for 24 hours
– According to the PDP, Nigeria need somebody who has experience in the private and public sectors with a lot of capacity and competence
As the 2019 general elections draw nearer, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said President Muhammadu Buhari is too weak to lead the country.
The statement was made by the national leader of the PDP, Uche Secondus, who said Buhari had tried his best and should go home and rest, Punch reports.
Tracknews.ng gathers that Secondus stated this during a presidential rally of the party at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna on Thursday, January 24.
He said: “Now is the time for you to take a stand and firmly too, to know that it is time for us to ask President Buhari to go home. Let him go home. Baba has tried. Let him go home. The energy is no longer there. And we know that by the grace of God, we need somebody with a lot of energy. We need somebody who will work for 24 hours.
“We don’t need Buhari to give this government to a cabal. If you vote for the APC, the cabal will still be in control. There will be hunger in the land. The man is weak. President Buhari is weak. He cannot rule. We advise him to go home.
“They have been sleeping on duty, that is why we have security problem in the country. They have been sleeping; that is why we have hunger in the land. Now, it is time for us to ask President Buhari to go home. Let him go home, he has tried.
“We need somebody who has experience in the private and public sectors with a lot of capacity and competence. When Atiku comes, he will provide jobs and food on your tables.”
On the forthcoming general elections, the PDP national chairman said said: “Never again will anybody rig the election in Nigeria. INEC, be warned; you can’t rig this election.”
Meanwhile, Tracknews.ng previously reported that the speaker of the Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would not be an alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.
He stated this in Umaisha, Toto local government area of the state on Thursday while addressing newsmen in Umuaisha, after visiting six electoral wards of his constituency.
Balarabe-Abdullahi (APC-Umaisha/Ugya), therefore, urged Nigerians to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari and all other APC candidates during the forthcoming general elections.
The speaker said Nigerians need Buhari more than ever before, considering his developmental strides in almost all sectors of the economy.
He emphasised that Nigerians would not forget in a hurry the damage caused by the PDP during its 16 years in power.
