2019 election: Bala Mohammed heads PDP review committee
PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, at the 87th emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the party, suggested that a committee be set up to review the party’s performance at the election. The committee was approved at the 88th NEC meeting.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, who briefed the press after Thursday’s NEC meeting, said the party’s Deputy National Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Agbo will serve as secretary of the committee.
Ologbondiyan also announced that five out of the six geopolitical zones of the country have nominated members that will serve in the committee.
According to him, former Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido and former Minister of Special Duties, Tanimu Turaki (SAN), will represent the North West in the committee, while former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogora and Alhassan Mohammadu will represent the North East.
Members from other zones are, former Niger State governor, Babangida Aliyu and Senator Istifanus Gyang (North Central); Francis Ogbonna Nwaifuru and Austin Nnamani (South East) while former Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives, Hon. Austin Opara and former Senate Chief Whip, Senator Stella Omu will represent the South South.
