2019: I’ve obtained a court order preventing my name from being removed as APC’s governorship candidate in Imo – Okorocha’s son-in-law boasts
Uche Nwosu, former chief of staff to Governor Rochas of Imo state, has boasted about obtaining a court order stopping the All Progressives Congress (APC) from removing his name as the party’s gubernatorial candidate in the state.
He made the boast on Sunday, October 28, in reaction to a statement credited to the APC’s acting publicity secretary, Lanre Issa Onilu, that Okorocha, was “a bad loser,” Vanguard reports.
TRACK NEWS gathers that Nwosu stated: “There are no contentions to my victory at the Imo state governorship primary election; probably, the publicity secretary was not well informed.
“What we have at the records is that the governorship candidate of APC in Imo state is Uche Nwosu.”
Meanwhile, TRACK NEWS previously reported that the Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, appealed to the National working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to submit the name of his son in-law, Uche Nwosu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the ruling party’s governorship candidate.
Okorocha made the appeal in a press statement. He said upholding Nwosu’s candidacy will “protect the high integrity of President Muhammadu Buhari and the integrity of the party.”
