2023: APC South-West Stakeholders Promise Tinubu for President
By Adeleye Kunle
The All Progressives Congress (APC) South West Caucus has vowed to deliver the party’s presidential candidate, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the 2023 general election.
The caucus, which met in Lagos yesterday, emerged from a stakeholders’ meeting determined to mobilize and ensure Tinubu’s presidential ambitions were realized.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting at the party’s Secretariat on Acme, Ogba, Lagos, Isaac Kekemeke, National Vice Chairman of the party, South-West, said, “We will not just deliver, but we will deliver very impressively.” Of course, this imposes on us the responsibility to work extremely hard, so we have a lengthy strategy session on the way forward between the national executives’ officers and state party chairmen.
“We have revolved to deliver to the party in the South West a new campaign and mobilization strategy, a new talking point, new ways of addressing, communicating, and interfacing with our women and our youths, to explain to them the need for every residence, in the Southwest, every citizen of the Southwest, every registered voter of the South-West, to do the needful by ensuring our votes are delivered to our father and our leader in our South West.”
“That in the person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we have committed and dedicated ourselves to the campaigns we intend to mobilize, our leaders, our youth, our students, our women, and everyone in the southwest to vote APC in due course, and we intend to make the meeting greeting and the details public.”
Earlier, the party’s National Secretary, Otunba Iyiola Omisore, stated that the election was rapidly approaching and that they should be proactive.
“We are working ahead of time to be proactive and to sensitize our people on the importance of voting for our candidate,” he said. Fortunately, for the first time in recent years, we have a candidate from Lagos State. We have landmarks that we can show you. We’re just getting together as a party to strategize and plan for our elections.”
The APC scribe, who noted that the party would highlight Tinubu’s accomplishments and capacity over the last 20 years, stated that the party would do its best to sell its candidate and correct some of the incorrect and erroneous narratives outside.
“We have to vote Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, vote APC in all elections,” Omisore said, adding that Tinubu had done a lot to move Lagos State forward on all fronts and deserved to be elected. He is our only option, and it is the best one we can have at this time. There is no other option. “How do you weigh them?”
