2023 Elections:The Best Ever Elections In Nigeria – Itse Sagay

A leading member of the Buhari Government and Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Comiittee on Corruption, Professor Itse Sagay (SAN), has said the last concluded elections were the best ever in Nigeria.
Sagay quoted the election loss of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State as evidence of the credibility of the elections.
Professor Sagay, who spoke to Channels TV Politics Program on Sunday night further asserted that the 2023 pools represented the minds and wills of Nigerians.
He however agreed that while the 2023 elections were characterized by religion, ethnicity considerations but also organizational skills played a major role.
He said Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC was able to organize and plant his supporters and administrative agencies all over the country to ensure his victory.
Despite Professor Sagay’s sterling views about the 2023 elections, many Nigerians would beg to differ on the credibility of the elections. There is a strongly held view that the elections were characterized by violence, ethnic targeting, voter suppression and outright fraud.
Opposition parties led by the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) have gone to court to challenge the election results.
