2023: Ex-Minister, Oby Ezekwesili Names Preferred Presidential Candidate

Former Minister of Education, Dr Obiageli Ezekwesili, has named the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, as her preferred candidate among others contesting the nation’s highest political position in the 2023 general elections.
According to her, the former Governor of Anambra State scored highest in the rating among the top candidates in the 2023 presidential race, declaring that he has her vote already.
Tracknews reports that Ezekwesili made her preference known during a Channels Television Hard Copy programme on Saturday (today).
According to her, Obi and the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidates and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, respectively, can easily be rated with public information available.
She noted that having done her ratings, she found Obi ahead of two other contestants.
“To the specific issue of a presidential candidacy, what I said and which I repeat everywhere that I am asked is that I look at the other two candidates and I rate them immediately on the basis of what we know, and for the three candidates there is publicly available information with which to do the rating.
“So after I have done my rating, there is absolutely no way I would leave a Peter Obi and vote for any of the other two candidates,” the former Vice President for the African Region of the World Bank said.
Speaking on leadership during a sermon at his church during the weekend, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Kumuyi, said that there is a need for every leader to be strong and courageous.
The respected Christian cleric said it is not right for a leader to be weak and confused.
According to him, such kind of leaders could easily succumb to doing the wrong thing, especially when under pressure.
Tracknews reports that Kumuyi stated this on a live Television programme while addressing his congregation during the Church’s Ministers/Professionals conference.
”A leader who knows the right thing but lacks courage could succumb to doing the wrong thing by pressure from people surrounding him,” Pastor Kumuyi noted.
Drawing his message from Joshua 1:1-2, the clergyman admonished leaders to learn from the Biblical Moses and Joshua, who delivered good performances in their different assignments.
Kumuyi warned them not to be like Aaron, who succumbed to pressure and raised an altar to a strange god when the people were about to stone him, even though he knew it was against the will of God.
