2023: I Am Sure I Will Win APC Presidential Ticket – Tinubu Boasts
Former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has expressed confidence about clinching the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023 presidential ticket.
The APC National Leader who spoke in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital on Sunday said he has an edge over other aspirants.
Speaking with newsmen after a consultative meeting with party stakeholders and delegates in the state, Asiwaju Tinubu said his chances of emerging as the eventual APC candidate for 2023 are very high.
“My chances of winning the ticket are incredibly high and I am very confident. I am sure I can and I will win it,” he said.
The APC chieftain added that he prefers that every aspirant test their popularity at the polls than for the party to opt for a consensus candidate in choosing its flagbearer.
“I want democracy, I am voting for democracy, One man, one vote,” he said.
Furthermore, a statement made available to Tracknews on Sunday about Tinubu’s visit to Taraba by his media office added that the presidential aspirant urged party members in the state to embrace peace and unity so the APC can record a resounding victory across board in the state.
“You must resolve your differences and put your house in order. We will work with you on this. One important thing you need is unity of purpose,’’ he said.
Earlier on Saturday, Aiwaju Tinubu had also visited Adamawa State and engaged with APC stakeholders and party delegates.
Joining Asiwaju Tinubu on his visit to the two states were former governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima; Chairman of Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Alhaji Kashim Ibrahim-Imam; former EFCC Chairman, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and House of Representatives member, Hon. James Faleke.
