2023: Jibrin Speaks On Peter Obi Deputizing Kwankwaso, Makes Promise To Southeast

A chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party Abdulmumin Jibrin has advised the southeast to vote for Rabiu Kwankwaso while Peter Obi will be the running mate in the 2023 election.
Speaking on Channels Television, Jubril said the safest route for the Igbo is an alliance with NNPP and a concrete agreement would be made that after Rabiu Kwankwaso’s tenure, power will return to the southeast.
According to Jubril, since the demise of the former Nigerian vice president, Alex Ekweme, this is the first time that the southeast would have the clarity that it would be their turn for the presidency after a certain number of years.
The NNPP chieftain said the Labour party does not owe any state in the country adding that Peter Obi being Kwankwaso’s running mater is the safest route for the southeast.
He said: “This is the first time they will seat at the table with NNPP to discuss, and sign a concrete agreement that after Kwankwaso, it’s going to be the southeastern, part of the country. Since after Alex Ekweme this would be the first time that the southeast would have that clarity that after a certain number of years that it will be their turn.”
“And I believe that’s the safest route for them to go but again they have the option to decide to go with their vote and waste it if they decided they want to demonstrate. The Yorubas have done that for decades, the fact is does Labour Party have some states? One of the safest routes is to go into alliance with NNPP. For now, Peter Obi should decide to be Kwankwaso’s running mate after that power can go back to the east.”
