2023: Northern Group Picks Tinubu As Presidential Candidate, Names Ganduje As Running Mate

A northern political group, the Tinubu Peoples Network (TPN) has declared Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as their chosen candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket for 2023 polls.
The group which stated that there is no better person to lead Nigeria at the moment also picked current Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as their preferred running mate for Tinubu.
Announcing the Tinubu/Ganduje ticket, TPN emphasized the importance of having the right people as leaders of the country come 2023.
The coordinator of the group, Muhammad Tajo Nagoda pointed out that the antecedents of Tinubu in office as the Lagos State Governor as well as the current achievements being recorded by Ganduje in Kano, influenced their choice of the two persons as their candidates for the 2023 presidential election.
He said they will do all within their power to ensure the two finally emerge as APC candidates and eventually as President and Vice President respectively.
“To us at TPN here in Kano, we believe that there is need for a proper choice of leader for Nigeria in 2023, a leader with the ability to articulate and adhere to and advocate for peaceful democracy in a turbulent political atmosphere.”
“We need a patriotic Nigerian with vision and commitment to developmental goals, a leader that has set exemplary benchmark in task of building a nation.”
“To us here the best leader for Nigeria in 2023 is none but Alhaji Bola Ahmad Tinubu. We here in the north especially have no better candidate than him”
He urged Nigerians not to consider the tribe or religious affinity of Tinubu and Ganduje, but rather look at people who can lead Nigeria to the promised land.
“What should concern us more should not be issues like religion or tribe but commitment to the course of the people as well as the ability to deliver, and this is what both Tinubu and Ganduje have displayed,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji has put his weight behind the candidacy of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for the 2023 presidential race.
The traditional ruler on Saturday declared that should Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) decide to run for the political seat, then he would do all he can to support him.
The Olubadan was quoted by NAN to have declared support for the Tinubu candidacy when he played host to members of the Tinubu Vanguard in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The director-general of Tinubu Vanguard, Johnny Benjamin said the Olubadan described Tinubu as a good man, capable of leading Nigeria by building on what the current administration has achieved and bring greater development to the nation.
