2023: Nyenye Kuro declares for House of Assembly

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr. Nyenye Kuro Matthias has declared his intention to contest for Nembe Constituency 1 seat in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
He made the declaration yesterday after a wide consultation across the constituency. According to him with the clarion call of my people, I Nyenye Kuro Matthias hereby declare my intention to contest for the Nembe Constituency 1, seat of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.

He said, the Nembe constituency 1, seat in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly has been occupied by eminent sons of Nembe who had also contributed their best. I do not intend to make many promises but to promise you that if elected, I will provide equitable, fair and effective representation of the constituency.

I do not only intend to focus on legislative business but also to care for the welfare of our people. My passion for the welfare of our people drove me to establish the St Matthias Nyenye Foundation in 2008 to support our people. Today, it is on record that hundreds of people have benefitted from the foundation.

As a young man, I have served my people in various capacities, this legislative seat will allow me to serve in a better capacity and at a higher level. If given the opportunity, I promise to usher in an era of openness and inclusiveness. My office will be open to all and my ears will be ready to listen to all. Representation is about the people and I will ensure the people have their say throughout my tenure.

I therefore call on you my friends, partners, family members and all to grant me your support as I take on this journey and by the special grace of God Almighty, we shall be victorious.
