Ifeanyi Okowa, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) vice presidential candidate, spoke on Monday about the dispute between Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, TrackNews Reports.
While speaking about Atiku’s recent interview with Arise TV, Okowa stated that everything the former vice president said was true.

He did say, however, that Governor Wike is not lying, and that it is important to air someone’s grievances when they are angry.

Governor Wike was also described as a friend by the vice presidential candidate, who added that they will find a way to talk.

He hoped that everything would go smoothly in the party ahead of the 2023 general election.

“We have been talking internally,” Okowa said in an interview with BBC pidgin. Everything is in order. You know how when something happens and no one can agree, it’s settled piece by piece?

“That is something we are still working on internally.” We’re figuring out how to communicate. I’ll say, he’s my friend, I’m his friend, and we’ll figure something out.

“Atiku has stated his version of events, and I am confident that his version is correct. I’m also not saying Wike is lying, but if someone is angry, it’s important to express yourself. For us at the party, it’s about bringing everyone together and figuring out how we can all work together. Wike is still an important member of the party; he has worked as hard for the party as many of us have, so we hope that everything comes together and that we can talk. I’m sure we’ll be sitting down soon.”
