2023: Peter Obi Says Opposition Parties Spread Fake News

Mohammed O. Taoheed reports,
Peter Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential flag-bearer, has accused the opposition parties of using the media to promote fake news and misinformation with the identity of his party.
Track News Nigeria covers that the former governor of Anambra State stated his displeasure over the happenings on Thursday in a series of tweets via his Twitter account.
Mr. Obi made this warning known as the official kick-off of the 2023 election campaign would begin soon.
BUT, he assured Nigerians that the Labour Party will remain resolute in its dedication to a neat campaign in 2023 despite any falsehood levelled against it.
As seen in his tweet: “As we approach the official kick-off of the 2023 election campaign, it has become evident that the opposition has adopted a negative strategy of trolling and insinuating fake news and misinformation in the social media space and blaming the Labour Party, its presidential candidate and their supporters of same.
We remain resolute in our commitment to an issue-based and clean campaign.
We will also rebuff all such ploys of deceit and calumny meant to create disaffection among Nigeria’s voting population, who desire credible leadership change.”
