2023 Presidency: Babangida, Dino Melaye, Fintiri, Others Storm ICC As Atiku Makes Official Declaration
A host of politicians and supporters on Wednesday were present at the International Conference Centre, (ICC) Abuja for the official declaration by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to contest the 2023 presidency.
TrackNews gathered that among those present were Adamawa State Governor, Umaru Fintiri, former Kogi Senator, Dino Melaye, former Vice President Muhammad Namadi Sambo and former Niger State Governor, Babangida Aliyu.
Others who stormed the venue are Chief Tom Ikimi, Ambassador Roland Omowa, and Josephine Anenih.
Speaking at the declaration, Governor Fintiri of Adamawa State described Atiku as the most qualified and experienced person to lead Nigeria.
He lamented the decay and damage brought to Nigeria by the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration but expressed confidence that Atiku can turn things around for the better if given the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In his words, “He (Atiku) is probably the most experienced person in the presidential race at the moment not only in our party, the PDP but in the country.”
He added that 2023 looks like the right time for Atiku to finally clinch the presidency after many years of trying.
“Atiku Abubakar is well prepared to lead Nigeria at his most demanding moment. He built a world-class university in the heart of the most educationally disadvantaged region in Nigeria. He has created wealth and provided jobs as a politician. His democratic credential is unequalled. He is the President that will unite and secure the country, salvage the economy and create jobs for our citizens.”
The event was still in progress at the time of filing this report.
