2023 Presidency: Obasanjo Points Out One Person That Can Change Nigeria’s Economy

Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has identified an individual he believes can change the economy of the country if given the opportunity.
Chief Obasanjo was said to have picked Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel as one person he believes can fix the country’s economy.
The former President was quoted to have made the submission when he played host to Governor Emmanuel on Tuesday at his Abeokuta residence in Ogun State.
The spokesperson to the Governor, Bola Bolawole quoted Obasanjo to have expressed confidence in the ability of Emmanuel to change the country’s economic fortunes around for the better based on what he has done in Akwa Ibom State.
“Knowing you the way I do and the knowledge that you possess, which you have expressed in your brief speech, I have no doubt that if you have the opportunity, you will fix the economy of Nigeria,” Obasanjo said.
“Our country is complex but not a complicated country to govern. It needs the application of honesty, fairness, and justice.
“I know that you are a man of conscience who fears God and will apply these guiding principles in your leadership.
“You have shown what you can do for Nigeria by what you have done in your state. It is, therefore, logical that when the opportunity presents itself, you will bring what you have done in your state to bear on the larger community.
“Your presidential bid is a fair and legitimate thing to ask for.”
TrackNews reports Governor Emmanuel is one of the 2023 presidential aspirants seeking to emerge as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2023 presidential election.
He has already picked up the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms for the position.
