Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has expressed his support for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate Olajide Adediran and running mate Funke Akindele in the 2023 elections.
The governor stated that he would be re-elected for a second term because he had made visible and tangible achievements.

This was stated by Sanwo-Olu during a discussion.

He insisted that his good deeds while in office would result in re-election.

“I managed the city’s emergency,” he explained. There have been several emergencies reported today alone.”

“I’ve recruited over 650 firefighters.” I’ve purchased 64 brand new trucks and will invite you to commissioning.

“I spent over a billion dollars to remove the garbage in Lagos.” We’re constructing a sanitary landfill. That’s exactly what we’re doing. We’re constructing 1618 kilometers of rigid pavement road worth tens of billions of dollars.

“We’re building the country’s largest market because that’s what we do,” Sanwo-Olu says.

When asked if he considers Olajide Adediran and his running mate, Funke Akindele, a threat, he responded, “So, like I said, if you have an emergency, who would you call?” What are your odds? Do you contact the man who has gone through the trenches before, who has lived with it, and who understands the issues?

“Will you leave your chance to someone who doesn’t know where the dial is or even what the issues of governance are, or will you appreciate what challenge you have even at 3 a.m.?” This is Lagos, Nigeria.

“This is an educated audience.” It’s not a tea party. We’re talking about true governance here. We’re discussing the lives of over 20 million Nigerians.

He went on to say that Lagos cannot be left in the hands of someone who “cannot run a business with 100 employees.”
