2023: Suspend Campaigns To Honour Flood Victims, Bode George Tells PDP, APC, Others

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olabode George, has advised political parties to suspend their campaigns to honor flood victims across the country.
The former PDP Deputy National Chairman called on his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and other political parties to suspend their campaigns and emulate the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
TrackNews reports that the PDP chieftain made the call while speaking in an interview with Sunday Politics on Channels TV on Sunday.
George asked the presidential candidates to show concern for the lives lost to the flooding disaster ravaging several parts of the country by visiting the states affected.
He said: “If you are campaigning to win the hearts of the Nigerian people, anything that will affect their state of mind should be your major concern.”
Atiku Commences Tours Of Flood Impacted States
The PDP presidential candidate and former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar will commence a tour of states with high incidents of flooding will commence a tour of states with high incidents of flooding across all geo-political zones in the country on Tuesday.
A press release by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, stated that the PDP presidential flag bearer shall be visiting Bayelsa State, to kickstart the tour.
One said the tours to states ravaged by flooding become incumbent in view of the trauma that the incidents have caused its victims.
He said the tours will provide Atiku the opportunity to have an on-sight impact assessment of these flooding incidents and give him a veritable window to input those ecological concerns in his policy documents.
