By Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed
Mr. Hope Uzodinma, the current Governor of Imo State, has declared that all the 22 All Progressives Congress, APC, Governors will deliver their states in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Visiting along withe eight other governors from the ruling party, Uzodinma made this known in the presence of President Muhammadu Buhari in Daura, Katsina State while felicitating with him over the Sallah celebrations.
He told TrackNews Nigeria following a closed-door meeting that the party could count on the governors to deliver their state on Monday.
Uzodimma asserted: “22 Governors will deliver 22 states because they have done very well.”
When questioned on the emergence of Senator Kashim Shettima, the ex-Governor of Borno State Governor, as a running mate to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Uzodimma commented that it was a collective decision and they are glad with the outcome.
Recall that TrackNews Nigeria had earlier reported that Tinubu proclaimed the Senator representing Borno Central senatorial district as his running mate.
Thus, Shettima has spoken on his emergence as the running mate of Bola Tinubu under the All Progressives Congress.
As seen in a post on his Facebook page, Shettima thanked Bola Ahmad Tinubu for taking him as the Vice-Presidential candidate of APC. Our correspondent says the post is published on Monday.
The legislator had a meeting with Tinubu on Monday at the airport in Abuja, the TrackNews Nigeria has learnt.
The former Governor of Borno State noted that he was at an orphanage in Maiduguri when Tinubu declared him as his running mate.
