2024 Workers’ Day: Bayelsa Govt ready to pay new minimum wage

Bayelsa Government has set up committee for minimum wage implementation.
His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of the State, set up the committee at the 2024 workers’ day celebration at the Peace Park, Yenagoa.
Governor Diri charged the committee headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei to look into the federal government template and see the possibility of implementing it in Bayelsa.
“I hereby set up a committee of the Head of Service, the Commissioner of Finance, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Commissioner for Labour and Productivity to be headed by the Secretary to the State Government to immediately look into what the federal government has done and see the possibility of domiciling it in Bayelsa State,” Governor Diri stated.
