The ancient city of Nembe was a beehive of activity on Saturday, 13 December, as the Nembe National Grammar School Old Students Association (NOSA) marked the 60th anniversary of the school, celebrating its rich legacy by honouring alumni who have distinguished themselves in their various professions and made remarkable contributions to society.

A major highlight of the milestone celebration was the conferment of a special award on the CEO/Managing Director of Amotoi Global Services Limited, Barr. Amunaboye Clement aka Amoro.

The award was in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the development of his alma mater and his exemplary service to humanity.

The award was presented by the President of NOSA, Dr. Inodu N. Apoku, at a colourful ceremony held in Nembe.

The event drew an impressive gathering of alumni and guests from diverse sectors, including business leaders, technocrats, professionals, scholars, and traditional rulers—many of whom are proud products of Nembe National Grammar School.

Their presence reinforced the school’s reputation as a cradle of excellence, leadership, and service.

Presenting the award, Dr. Apoku described Barr. Clement as “a worthy ambassador of Nembe National Grammar School whose professional accomplishments and humanitarian gestures reflect the enduring values of the institution.”

He noted that the honour was in appreciation of Barr. Clement’s consistent support for education, youth empowerment, and community development.

Barr. Clement is an accomplished lawyer, visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist, and highly respected community leader whose influence extends across the Niger Delta and beyond.

Since being called to the Nigerian Bar in 2006, he has consistently deployed his legal expertise to protect and promote community interests, particularly in engagements involving multinational oil and gas operations in Nembe territory.

As Founder and Boss of Amotoi Global Services Limited, established in 2005, he has built the company into one of Nigeria’s high-performing indigenous oil and gas service firms.

Speaking to journalists after receiving the award, Barr. Clement thanked NOSA and the entire NNGS community, describing the recognition as deeply humbling and emotionally significant.

“This honour is special because it comes from my roots. Nembe National Grammar School laid the foundation for my values, discipline, and sense of responsibility. Whatever I have achieved in life is a product of that foundation, and I remain committed to giving back to education and to humanity,” he said.

Well-wishers who spoke to journalists praised Barr. Clement for his humility, generosity, and unwavering commitment to community development, describing him as a role model for younger alumni and a symbol of purposeful leadership and service.

Speaking with journalists shortly after the ceremony, several stakeholders described the recognition as a fitting milestone in the remarkable trajectory of honours that have followed Barr. Clement’s career over the years.

They highlighted his standing as a UN-POLAC Peace Ambassador, a recipient of the Nembe Se Lawyers Forum Chairman’s Award, and a laureate of the University of Port Harcourt @50 Human Capital Development Award, among numerous other prestigious distinctions.

According to them, the latest honour not only adds to an already impressive list of accolades but also reinforces his sustained contributions to leadership, philanthropy, and human capital development.

He was also commended as a strong advocate of intellectual advancement, having sponsored the education of over 150 students in the past four years through the Amunaboye Scholarship and Foundation – an intervention many described as life-changing for its beneficiaries.

As Nembe National Grammar School marks 60 years of academic excellence and character formation, the recognition of Barr. Clement stands as a fitting tribute to a distinguished son of the soil whose life and work continue to exemplify determination, discipline, service to humanity, and absolute faith in God.
