WAD Expresses Gratitude to Gbaramatu Kingdom, Bayelsa Leaders After Festive Visit
Former member of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Wilson Ayakpo Dauyegha, popularly known as WAD, has expressed deep appreciation to the people of Gbaramatu Kingdom and several political, traditional, and community leaders across Delta and Bayelsa states for the hospitality and support shown to him and his family during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
In a message of gratitude shared after the festive period, Dauyegha thanked the entire Gbaramatu Kingdom, describing it as his maternal home and commending the unity, warmth, and sense of belonging extended to him throughout his stay. He said the reception made the celebrations memorable and reaffirmed strong family and cultural bonds.
He specifically praised High Chief Government Ekpomupolo, Oweizide, popularly known as Tompolo, for what he described as remarkable developmental strides in Gbaramatu Kingdom. Dauyegha noted that Tompolo’s efforts have contributed not only to local development but also to the broader progress of the Ijaw Nation.
The former lawmaker also expressed gratitude to the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty the Agadagba, for his royal blessings, guidance, and encouragement. He prayed for a long, peaceful, and prosperous reign for the monarch, acknowledging the traditional institution’s role in promoting stability and unity.
Dauyegha further appreciated the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Guwor Emomotimi Dennis, citing his leadership qualities, humility, and public service record. He also commended the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Chief Dr. Dennis Otuaro, for his commitment to peace, stability, and human development in the Niger Delta region.
His message extended to key business and community leaders, including Engr. Matthew Tonlagha, Managing Director of Matton Engineering Nigeria Limited, for his brotherly disposition, and Chief Engr. Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Limited and Ibe Benemowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, for his generosity and dedication to community growth.
Special recognition was given to his uncle, Chief Moses Bebenimibo, the Amaebidowei I of Ama Ebimo Zion, Kunukunuma, whom Dauyegha described as a strong pillar of support. He also thanked Chief Dr. Paul Bebenimibo and Chief Simeon Bebenimibo for their hospitality, goodwill, and support during the visit.
Dauyegha acknowledged the spiritual support he received from Pastor Mathias, noting the prayers and prophetic declarations made over his life. He said such gestures contributed to the positive experience of the festive season.
He also appreciated the support of friends and associates, including Chief Goffery Pondi, Hon. Julius Pondi, and Rolland Pondi, as well as Chief Samuel Okrika and Chief Hon. Sylvester Oromoni, whom he credited for counsel and encouragement.
Turning attention to his paternal roots, Dauyegha thanked the people of Ekeremor Town and Bayelsa State at large for their support. He acknowledged several political leaders, including Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, Chief Solomon Agwana, Hon. Abraham Ongobere, and High Chief Hon. Macdonald Igbadiwei, for their prayers and goodwill.
He further mentioned a wide range of public office holders, elders, and associates across Bayelsa and Delta states for their solidarity, noting that the collective support reflected enduring relationships built over the years.
Dauyegha concluded by thanking his immediate family, including his mother, Mrs. Cynthia Fred Boufini, his children, and his sister, Hon. Grace Ayakpo Ekiottene. He said the love and unity shown by family, friends, and well-wishers reinforced shared values of peace and community.
He expressed hope that peace and prosperity would continue to reign across the Niger Delta and beyond, reaffirming his commitment to the people and the region.
