The Amassoma Divisional Police Station has arrested and arraigned one Agusi Oyeintari in connection with the abduction and murder of Peresuode Patrick, a case that has continued to generate widespread public attention. Oyeintari, who is described as a self-acclaimed chief priest in Amassoma, is accused of aiding the illegal arrest and subsequent disappearance of the deceased.

According to reports circulating locally, the arrest followed investigations linking Oyeintari to Apostle Boadmas Kemepadei and a group of associates alleged to have carried out the abduction. Police sources indicate that Oyeintari allegedly played a key role in helping the suspects locate the residence of the late Peresuode Patrick after several failed attempts.

The accusations suggest that Apostle Boadmas Kemepadei contacted Oyeintari, whom he reportedly described as a friend and fellow traditional priest, to seek guidance on how to trace Peresuode Patrick’s whereabouts. It is alleged that Oyeintari agreed to assist and instructed his own son to lead Boadmas and his group to the victim’s residence.

Following this guidance, the suspects reportedly proceeded to Peresuode Patrick’s home, where an illegal arrest was carried out. The late Patrick and his brother were allegedly whisked away by the group without any lawful authority or warrant, raising serious concerns about the circumstances surrounding the operation.

Further claims emerged from a video commentary attributed to social media commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM), who alleged that after the abduction, the mother of the victims approached Agusi Oyeintari to plead for the release of her sons. According to the account, the woman believed Oyeintari could intervene due to his alleged relationship with Apostle Boadmas Kemepadei.

The report claims that Oyeintari refused the plea and advised the woman to return home, stating that her son had “bitten more than he could chew.” It was further alleged that Oyeintari told her that only the younger brother would be released, while Peresuode Patrick would be detained and “taught some lessons” before being freed at a later date.

Subsequent developments, however, contradicted these assurances, as Peresuode Patrick reportedly never regained his freedom and was later confirmed dead. The circumstances of his death have not been fully disclosed by authorities, but the case has sparked outrage within the community and on social media.

Residents of Amassoma have continued to express concern over the role of informal power structures and unauthorized arrests, calling on security agencies to ensure accountability. The case has also intensified debates about the influence of religious and traditional figures in local disputes and criminal matters.

Police authorities have not yet released a detailed statement outlining all charges against Agusi Oyeintari, but his arraignment signals a significant step in the ongoing investigation. Sources close to the case suggest that more arrests may follow as investigators work to unravel the full network involved in the abduction.

As the matter proceeds through the legal system, the public awaits further updates from the Nigeria Police Force regarding the progress of the case, the findings of the investigation, and the pursuit of justice for the late Peresuode Patrick.
