FG Redeploys Policemen from VIP Duties to Strengthen Security in Kwara and North Central Communities
The Federal Government has ordered the large-scale redeployment of police officers previously assigned to VIP escort and guard duties to vulnerable communities in Kwara State and other parts of the North Central region. The move is aimed at strengthening security presence and enhancing core policing functions in areas facing security challenges.
The Nigeria Police Force confirmed that officers who had been attached to private individuals and prominent figures for non-essential protective assignments are being reassigned to frontline operational duties. The decision is part of a broader strategy to improve public safety and address rising concerns about insecurity in affected communities.
According to police authorities, the redeployment will enable the force to increase patrols, intelligence gathering and rapid response capabilities in rural and semi-urban areas.
