A former Commissioner for Information and Orientation in Bayelsa State, Dr. Daniel Iworiso-Markson has congratulated Governor Douye Diri on his sixth anniversary in office, describing his administration as one marked by remarkable achievements despite daunting challenges.

In a statement issued to commemorate the anniversary, the former Commissioner noted that Governor Diri assumed office at a critical juncture in the state’s history, confronted by political tensions, economic constraints and environmental pressures.

He, however, commended the governor for what he called “a calm, focused and people-oriented leadership style that has kept Bayelsa on a steady path of growth.”

According to him, the administration’s investments in infrastructure, particularly in road construction and rehabilitation across key communities, have significantly improved connectivity and stimulated socio-economic activities.

He also highlighted other notable strides recorded in the last six years, saying they are clear indicators of a government determined to strengthen institutions and improve the quality of life of citizens.

The former Commissioner particularly praised Governor Diri’s role in consolidating peace and stability across the state, noting that sustained stakeholder engagement and inclusive governance have fostered unity and reduced tensions.

He described the prevailing atmosphere of peace as one of the administration’s most enduring achievements.

While acknowledging that governance remains a continuous task, he urged the governor to use the remaining period of his tenure to consolidate on existing gains and deliver even more impactful projects.

“As Your Excellency journeys toward the end of your tenure, I encourage you to finish strong, deepen reforms, complete ongoing projects and further entrench a culture of peace”, Iworiso-Markson added.
