Adeleye Kunle Reports
Usman Alkali Baba, the Inspector-General of Police, has recognized three officers from across the country for their exemplary performance in the line of duty, TrackNews reports.
The Police Commissioner also directed that commendation certificates be issued to officers who have distinguished themselves despite the numerous challenges of policing the nation.
This was stated in a statement signed on Wednesday by Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
SP Daniel Itse Amah, Divisional Police Officer in Charge of Nasarawa Division in Kano State, was among those honored.
Amah turned down a $200,000 bribe, leading to the arrest of an armed robbery syndicate.
Similarly, the Inspector General of Police lauded the bravery of Imo State Police Command Inspector Ekene Ndukwu, who successfully ambushed and neutralized two members of a banditry gang who stormed his house in the early hours of Thursday, August 4.
According to Adejobi, the armed Police Inspector surprised the bandits with heavy gunfire, repelling their attacks.
The IGP also praised Police Constable Nura Mande of the Katsina State Police Command for discovering and returning an envelope containing $800 belonging to an intending pilgrim, an elderly woman, at the Hajj Camp in Katsina.
