Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) heightened security in the nation’s capital Abuja

Adeleye Kunle Reports
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has increased security in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, TrackNews reports.
Abu Mohammed, the Minister’s Special Assistant on Security Matters, spoke on Tuesday in response to recent terrorist attacks.
According to the aide, reports of a large influx of suspicious people into Abuja were false.
The FCT, according to Mohammed, is not immune to banditry, terrorism, armed robbery, and petty theft.
The assistant announced that Minister Muhammad Bello had approved funds to begin the second phase of the G-7 operation.
He stated that security actions and procedures will include going after bandits and terrorists in their dens.
Mohammed revealed that neighboring states such as Nasarawa, Kaduna, Niger, and Kogi were planning to join the operation.
He cited regular joint operations by security agencies and military members of the FCT Security Committee as efforts to improve security.
“Ongoing Clearance Operations of suspected bandit locations on the FCT’s outskirts in hilly, mountainous, and forest areas.”
“There has also been an increase in strategic military checkpoints and joint patrol,” Mohammed added.
