Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

The federal government’s choice to award a surveillance contract to High Chief Government Ekpemupolo aka Tompolo has been praised by Mr. Josiah Oyakongan, aka Commander Oyimi 1, a former warlord in the defunct Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, or MEND. He claims that by enlisting Niger Deltans to guard oil facilities, oil theft will be at its lowest level.

Oyakongan, the leader of the MADND movement (Movement for the Actualization of Niger Deltans’ Dreams), praised Tompolo’s selection and praised his dedication to both regional and national development. “The FG’s contract to monitor Tompolo is a smart one. Tompolo has a strong commitment to the Niger Delta’s peace and stability.

“Tompolo deserves it and even more because he made significant sacrifices for the Niger Delta’s economic and political stability.”

“The protection of oil infrastructure and facilities in the area will be strengthened by direct participation of locals, especially youngsters, and a crucial partner like Tompolo. This will deepen peace, which will in fact convert to economic progress.” I applaud the Federal Government for selecting Tompolo to handle the pipeline surveillance contract for guarding oil pipelines and sites in the Niger Delta. For the sake of maintaining peace, the Federal Government must keep working with Tompolo.
