The National Council of Works Meeting begins today in Kano

The Kano State Government will host the 28th National Council of Works Meeting today (Monday), which will conclude next Friday.

Engr. Idris Wada Saleh, the state commissioner of Works and Infrastructural Development, announced this in his office on Sunday, saying the council meeting is an annual event that brings together all stakeholders from the 36 states of the federation, including Abuja, to discuss issues pertaining to the works sector.

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is the Special Guest of Honour, and the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), will preside over the event.

Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub, commissioners, permanent secretaries of Works Ministries across the country, heads of relevant government agencies, and other stakeholders are expected to attend the five-day meeting at the Bristol Palace Hotel.

The commissioner also revealed that this year’s meeting theme is “Infrastructure, Season of Completion.”
