Senator Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, praised President Muhammadu Buhari for his commitment to backing the party’s candidates running for various political posts in the 2023 elections.

This occurred as the party’s former national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, urged party members to start organizing for the election scheduled for next year. Comrade Oshiomhole noted that staying united would be the only way the party’s presidential candidate and others could win the election.

Tinubu said over the weekend while hosting Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the party’s national chairman, and other NWC members at the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office in Abuja.

In a statement released by his media office yesterday and signed by Mr. Tunde Rahman, Tinubu praised Buhari for his fidelity and dedication to the party.
In response to Buhari’s stance that he would only back APC-sponsored candidates, Tinubu said the President deserved praise for being a true leader and devoted party member.

“I applaud Mr. President’s comments from a few days ago. It was firm, clear, to the point, and daring for a leader of our party. The President deserves praise for making that declaration, for his dedication to the party, for his allegiance, and for truly leading the party.

If elected president, Tinubu promised to work toward developing and sustaining a knowledge-based economy in Nigeria.
He said, “If and when we are elected, among other things, we will seek to grow Nigeria as a knowledge-based economy that addresses the country’s whole requirements in the present and makes preparations for the future.

“We will implement financial reforms fit for the twenty-first century, start building infrastructure fit for the twenty-first century, and eliminate crimes fit for the twenty-first century, propelled by technology.”
The APC National Chairman praised Tinubu for his efforts and the infrastructure put in place to ensure a successful campaign.
He said, “With these commendable efforts, you’re already writing the word success. Those who are familiar with you anticipate nothing less. And it is our hope and prayer that God Almighty would reward our efforts in February 2023 with victory.

Oshiomhole has meanwhile urged party members to start organizing for the upcoming election, stating that the party’s presidential candidate, Tinubu, and others can only succeed by remaining unified.
The two-term governor of Edo State refuted the assertion that he had endorsed a candidate for the state’s governorship race in 2024 while speaking at a stakeholders’ gathering in Benin City over the weekend, saying he had learned his lesson.

The APC senatorial candidate for Edo North, Oshiomhole, stated that local party leaders have a crucial role to play in the upcoming elections. He urged them to visit their local governments, hold meetings, and promote their candidates to the electorate at large.
When he was removed from his position as the party’s chairman after two years, he also urged the members who felt wronged to follow in his footsteps.

The contestants have emerged now that the primaries are completed, he declared. We need to set aside our disagreements from the primaries and rally behind our candidates, starting with Bola Tinubu, the party’s national head and two-term governor of Lagos and our presidential candidate. When I was removed from my position as the party’s national chairman, I demonstrated political forbearance, and the party’s resentful members should take note. I had the chance to file a complaint, which would have prevented the party congress from proceeding, but I chose not to.

“I have not and will not be endorsing anyone for the governorship election. I’ve grown as a result of my blunders. I haven’t asked anyone to take a position of authority or to step down, either. “In the past, when I asked people to step down, they did and never forgave me, while the ones that stepped up have not done anything to justify the confidence reposed in them,” Oshiomhole said. “The only person I asked to step down was my younger brother, and this is because two Oshiomholes cannot be on the ballot.

He asked Nigerians not to be misled by the remarks of the other presidential candidates while discussing the party’s Muslim-Muslim ticket, pointing out that Tinubu is a tolerant Nigerian who has no desire to convert Nigeria to Islam.
