REVEALED: ‘O To Ge’ Movement Was Fraudulent – Saraki
Mohammed O. Taoheed reports,
Hon. Bukola Saraki, a past President of the Nigerian Senate, has said that the ‘O to ge’ movement was deceitful, accusing the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State to maliciously oust the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from power.
In the words of Saraki, the strategy was adopted by the ruling party to deceive the people of the state in a bid to just win elections and remove the PDP from the government, adding that it is just tissues of lies to take over 2019.
The former Senate president made this revelation on Sunday during a meeting of members with the ruling APC in the state who dumped to the PDP in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Recall that the APC had won the 2019 presidential elections in the state, emerged as the owner of the gubernatorial seat, the three Senate seats, six House of Representatives seats and 24 state House of Assembly seats.
According to Saraki: “But Kwarans have learnt their lessons in a bitter way now. I am confident that the PDP will send the APC away from the Government House in 2023 by the grace of God.”
The politician asserted that he was optimistic because of the poor performance of the current Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq.
He stated: “Residents of the state both indigenes and non indigenes are now regretting that they mistakenly voted for the current government in 2019.”
Meanwhile, the defectors, who were led by Mr. Kayode Ogunlowo, pointed that they left the APC because of victimization and intimidation by the present administration in the state.
