Supreme Court: “I have no regrets,” Babayemi says, congratulating Adeleke.
Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) factional governorship candidate for Osun State 2022, Prince Dotun Babayemi, who challenged Governor-elect Senator Ademola Adeleke’s candidacy and lost at the Supreme Court on Thursday, has stated that he has no regrets for his actions.
In a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists, the PDP chieftain congratulated Senator Ademola Adeleke.
“I want to wish the Governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke, the PDP, and the good people of Osun the very best as a new PDP administration prepares to berth in Osun,” he said. “I pray that it will bring about the long-awaited change for the state and its people,” he said.
“For us, the legal journey was a long walk and worthwhile with no iota of regret,” he said. The core of our case was not reviewed by the Supreme Court because it was decided on technical grounds. Above all, no remorse.” Babayemi thanked party leaders, supporters, party members, and the people of the state for their unwavering support throughout the struggle.
