“Incoming Vice President” – Jonathan Openly Supports Okowa

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has praised the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) vice presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa.
Jonathan, who hosted the Delta State Governor and other PDP leaders, declared Okowa the incoming Vice President of Nigeria.
Because it is a joint ticket, this is a strong statement of support for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
At the meeting on Wednesday, Jonathan was quoted as saying, “Our incoming vice-president — he has served two terms as a governor.”
The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, also attended the meeting, as previously reported by Track News.
The meeting is thought to be part of preparations for the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria to determine President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor.
Jonathan also wished “more success” to those running for various positions in the 2023 elections.
The former President’s silence on PDP issues and activities had raised concerns among party leaders and supporters.
However, Jonathan’s statement, his first public position on supporting any presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, will go a long way toward boosting the party’s confidence in the run-up to next year’s elections.
While there had been calls for Jonathan to run for president in 2023, amid rumors that he would abandon the PDP for the All Progressives Congress (APC), Jonathan did not participate in any party’s primary election.
