A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) has distanced himself from President Muhammadu Buhari’s delay in launching the party’s presidential campaign.
While speaking about the delay in the inauguration of the party’s presidential campaign council, the NWC member stated that the disagreement over the campaign list has not been resolved.

In recent weeks, the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, and several APC governors have expressed dissatisfaction with the composition of the campaign list.

The party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, met with the party’s disgruntled stakeholders to review the list.

However, the ruling party has yet to establish its presidential campaign council, despite the fact that the meeting was held several days ago.

In a chat with the Sunday Sun, the NWC member distanced President Buhari from the delay, saying the APC still has time despite the delay in the inauguration of its presidential campaign council.

“I think we may have been economical with the truth by blaming the entire delay in the launch of our campaign on President Buhari’s availability,” he said. I am confident that Mr. President is more liberated than our candidate is right now. I’d like to believe that the failure to resolve certain issues that have already been made public cannot be wished away.

“I don’t believe the issue of the campaign list disagreement has been resolved.” If it had been resolved, the comprehensive list would have been made public to demonstrate our seriousness, as other political parties have done. One might also wonder if Mr. President’s schedule is also delaying the release and inauguration of the campaign council, which is an important part of our campaign activities.

“The good news is that we still have plenty of time.” I want to reassure party members and supportive Nigerians that when we iron out all of these kinks, the APC will come out swinging. When we roll out the drums, Nigerians will hear us loud and clear.”
