Former APC Presidential Candidate Dumpes Tinubu in Favor of Obi for President
Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Former All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate in 2019, Charles Udeogaranya, has abandoned the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Udeogeranya declared his support for the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
According to Udeogaranya, the ruling party’s Muslim-Muslim ticket is a clear indication of an Islamisation agenda and a despotic government.
Obi, according to the former presidential candidate, is the most credible candidate to lead Nigeria out of the woods in 2023.
Udeogaranya stated that Nigerians must reject primal emotions and vote for the best candidate because “times like these demand patriotism and self-help to make the best decisions for our country Nigeria.”
He expressed his dissatisfaction with the state of the country’s economy, which has driven Nigerians to the brink of desperation.
Udeogaranya’s decision to support Tinubu comes just months after another presidential aspirant from the ruling party, S.K.C. Ogbonnia, withdrew his support for Tinubu.
In his announcement, Ogbonnia publicly declared his support for Obi in the 2023 presidential election.
While explaining his decision, the former presidential candidate cited Tinubu’s frailty and “shady background.”
