Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate, has reconciled with the party’s National Chairmanship, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
According to Track News, the former Governor of Lagos State has appeased the APC National Chairman by accepting the position of Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).

Remember that Tinubu and Adamu were at odds over the composition and release of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, which is chaired by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Following the initial release of the 422-member list, Adamu allegedly wrote a letter that went viral, accusing Tinubu of running a one-man show in the selection of PCC members, among other things.

Adamu claimed in his letter that Tinubu purposefully excluded the NWC from the composition of his presidential campaign council.
However, the APC’s leadership distanced itself from the contentious letter just hours after it went viral.

According to a statement issued in Abuja by the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the letter did not originate with the party.

Following the development, the council withdrew the list in order to include the APC NWC and other disgruntled party members in the newly-harmonised list.

The party chairman was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the council in a new list released on Wednesday night by the APC National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisire, while Tinubu emerged as the Deputy Chairman II.

A source within the PCC told The Punch that Tinubu decided to hand over his position on the council to Adamu in order for peace to reign.

The APC chieftain revealed that the cold war between Tinubu and Adamu existed long before the APC presidential primary.

“You know, the cold war between them has always existed long before the APC presidential primary ended,” he said. Adamu is always suspicious of Tinubu’s moves and looks for ways to counter them.

“Even the NWC members know Adamu doesn’t hide the fact that he always wants to be made a key decision-maker to decide the direction of the campaign ahead of 2023.”
