Buhari’s incompetence is to blame for Nigeria’s economic woes — PDP

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
The Atiku-Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation has blamed President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for the dwindling value of the naira and the country’s frightening security situation.
Dele Momodu, Director of Strategic Communication for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential Campaign Council, stated yesterday at a media briefing in Abuja that the naira was today losing ground against foreign currencies, particularly the US dollar, because the current administration had demonstrated gross incompetence in economic management.
Momodu also stated that, despite the Federal Government’s denials, Nigeria’s security situation remained dire.
“Our candidate is deeply concerned about the cost of living crisis, which is being exacerbated by the hyperinflation imposed on Nigerians by the APC administration’s incompetence,” he said.
“We are assuring Nigerians, however, that assistance is on the way, as the policies outlined in the policy document, ‘Our Covenant with Nigerians,’ will not only lift Nigeria out of poverty, but will also usher in an era of prosperity and sustainable development under a PDP government in 2023.”
“The Economy and ‘Kitchen Table Issues,’ as Americans will call them, remain central to the PDP Recovery Agenda.”
On the issue of security, Momodu stated, “The PDP and our presidential flagbearers are concerned about the country’s ongoing insecurity.”
“The recent security alert issued by some foreign embassies and missions in Nigeria, while dismissed as unwarranted by the government, serve as a reminder of the perilous time we are in.”
“We urge security agencies to be on top of their game to ensure that none of the frightening scenarios depicted in the security alert come to pass, and we also urge Nigerians to remain vigilant.”
According to him, the naira’s depreciation is a direct result of the planned redesign of the country’s currency.
“The Central Bank of Nigeria’s announcement last week that it would redesign some naira denominations elicited a range of reactions from Nigerians.”
flood victims and applaud their fortitude and fortitude in the face of this unprecedented calamity and suffering caused by the disaster.”
“While praising those who helped in some way to bring relief to victims, the campaign urged public-spirited individuals to keep up the good work.”
Momudu commented on Atiku Abubakar’s recent trip to the United States, saying, “Our principal was in the United States of America where he held council meetings with officials of the United States Department of State.”
The visit was intended to strengthen bilateral cooperation with the United States on the economy, poverty reduction, and the fight against insecurity.
“The insights gained from the visit will enable our candidate and the PDP to deliver on its promises to the people of Nigeria when he takes office next year through a seamless partnership with the government of the United States on the economy, security, and poverty reduction.”
“Momodu also stated that the campaign council would continue to engage with Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and his four disgruntled colleagues in the hope of swaying them.”
He also dismissed an attempt to compare current events in the PDP to what occurred in the party in 2014, when five governors defected to join the APC.
“The Director stated that in 2014, Nigerians were tired of the PDP and wanted to try something new, but that now that they have seen the difference, they would like the PDP to return.”
In a similar vein, a Campaign spokesperson, Charles Aniagwu, explained that the campaign train had since left the station, while talks with the five disgruntled governors were still ongoing.
