U-17 WWC: Sports Minister, NFF officials welcome Flamingos back to Nigeria

Nigeria’s Flamingos returned to Abuja on Tuesday following their impressive performance at the just concluded 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India.
Bankole Olowookere’s side finished in third position in the competition after edging out 3-2 on penalties.
It was the country’s best ever finish in the history of the competition.
Vice-president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) , Felix Anyansi-Agwu, led a number of senior officials of the body including SecretaryGeneral, Mohammed Sanusi to receive the players and their officials at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja on Tuesday afternoon.
The players were later received at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja by Sports Minister, Sunday Dare.
“We commend you for the way you performed without fear and held up the flag to win a historic bronze for our country in this competition,” Dare said at the ceremony.
“I praise the NFF for the support to the team right from their screening through the qualifiers and to the arrangements for final camping in Turkey and the final tournament in India. We must also commend the coaching crew for their steadfastness in imparting the right knowledge to the players
