One-day-old baby boy abandoned in Calabar

By Adeleye Kunle
A one-day-old baby was on Saturday morning discovered inside a waste bin at the Africana Bus Stop near a petrol station on Atimbo Road, Calabar.
Neighbours and early risers woke up to discover the baby as they waited to board buses to their destinations in Calabar.
According to eyewitnesses, the baby was still breathing as of the time of filing this report.
They said that the baby boy was left naked inside the filthy waste bin, with the placenta still intact.
However, one of the witnesses, Deaconess Dorathy Effiom, a mother and seamstress, said, “the sight of the baby boy has left tears flowing from my eyes.
“The poor boy is being feasted upon by army of flies and stench, even though he is still breathing.
“Will God actually forgive the woman or parents that have done this? This is heartlessness.”
