Soludo believes Peter Obi’s alleged investments are worthless.

Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo said on Thursday that his predecessor in office, Peter Obi’s, alleged investments are worth next to nothing.
Obi is the Labour Party’s presidential candidate. He governed Anambra from 2006 to 2014 before winning the party’s nomination.
Soludo stated on Channels Television’s Politics Today that he is unaware of any investment in the state by any of his predecessors.
“I think I read something about someone speculating on whatever investment.” Based on what I’ve seen today, the value of those investments is negligible. “Leave that aside,” the governor said.
The governor also discussed his administration’s plans for the people of Anambra State, noting that over 5,000 teachers in the state will receive job offers in the coming days.
“We are handing out employment letters to over 5,000 teachers to end an era of schools without teachers,” he said.
“We will have over 240 doctors and consultants to staff our general hospitals, so if you look at the five fingers approach of our programs, we designed our budget to keep our eyes on the ball.”
The governor’s remarks follow his presentation of the N258.97 billion 2023 budget to the Awka House of Assembly chambers.
The budget, dubbed “the budget of acceleration,” increased from Soludo’s N170 billion revised 2022 budget presented in May.
During his presentation, he stated that the 2023 budget embodied his administration’s “single-minded focus and determination to keep pressing the accelerator pedals despite the risky bumps along the way.”
Capital expenditure accounts for 63.2 percent of the budget at N164 billion, while recurrent expenditure accounts for 36.8 percent at N95.5 billion, resulting in a N13 billion budget deficit.
According to the governor, land transport, power generation, and urban reintegration received approximately N91.8 billion, accounting for 56% of total capital expenditure.
