Details emerge as Nnamdi Kanu refuses to appear in court in protest against FG’s refusal to release him

Nnamdi Kanu, the self-avowed leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, refused to appear before a Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday in protest of the Federal Government’s refusal to obey a Court of Appeal judgment ordering his release from detention.
Mr Mohammed Abubakar, counsel for the Federal Government, informed Justice Binta Nyako of the refusal to honor the High Court.
He informed the court that all attempts to persuade him to change his mind had been futile.
Kanu was said to have refused to appear in court until the Court of Appeal’s October 13 judgment is respected and obeyed by releasing him from the custody of the Department of State Service, DSS, in Abuja.
