Rooney hits back at Ronaldo over recent outbursts
Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments about Wayne Rooney are said to have left him “bemused,” but the Manchester United legend will not comment publicly on the matter.
Ronaldo slammed the Premier League club, manager Erik ten Hag, and former teammates Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney in an interview with Piers Morgan.
Regarding Rooney, the 37-year-old stated that Rooney was envious of him, “probably because he finished his career and I’m still playing at a high level.”
According to Track News, in response to the explosive interview, “Rooney has decided he will make no public statement on the matter.”
It went on to say that Rooney “believes Ronaldo must accept that he is nearing the end of his career.” However, being a part of a club the size of Manchester United necessitates respecting the situation and not expecting to play every minute of every game.
