Okowa’s mismanagement inspired me to run for governor – Omo-Agege
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy Senate President and Delta APC Gubernatorial Candidate in Delta State, said misgovernance by the Ifeanyi Okowa-led Peoples Democratic Party government triggered his desire to run for governor and provide better leadership.
Omo-Agege stated on Friday at the Saint Jude Catholic Church in Effurun, near Warri, where he dedicated his governorship campaign to God and sought divine protection for electoral victory, that he decided to begin his campaign with prayers in accordance with Jesus’ teaching of beginning and ending any project with prayer.
Ima Niboro, the Delta APC Campaign Council’s Director of Communications and Media Strategy, stated in a statement: “Senator Omo-Agege asserted that his motivation to contest the governorship election was the level of misgovernance in Delta state by the Gov Ifeanyi Okowa led PDP administration.”
“He stated that he is aware that the race will not be easy, but that with God, anything is possible.”
Senator Omo-Agege revealed that he chose Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi as his running mate not only for his political credentials and experience, but also to bridge the generational gap with the younger generation, who would bond better with him.
“He thanked God for uniting the APC as one solid bloc for the upcoming elections at various levels,” the statement continued.
