Jonathan’s Reaction To The APC Muslim-Muslim Ticket In 2023
Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed reservations about the APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket (APC).
Jonathan stated that the ruling party’s same-faith ticket would leave gaps in Nigeria’s religious diversity.
He continued by stating that the same-faith ticket could only be used in states across the country.
Jonathan stated this in an interview that appeared in the book “My Time As Chaplain In Aso Rock,” which was published on Tuesday.
The accounts of Obioma Onwuzurumba, the Chaplain of the Aso Rock Villa Chapel during the Jonathan administration, are included in Nathaniel Bivan’s book.
“When I became vice president, the custom was that if the president was a Christian, the vice president would be a Muslim, and vice versa,” he explained. We have religious festivals in Nigeria, as well as National Day, which will include Jummah and Christian prayers.
“Because Nigerians are religious, I am concerned about the Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian ticket issues.” Yes, coalitions of Muslims and Christians can govern the country. But I’m always curious, “Who will represent this other bloc when we have national holidays?”
