Businesses, roads, shops close for APC rally in Kaduna
Ahead of today’s flag-off of the All Progressive Congress Party presidential and governorship rally in Kaduna State, commercial businesses and all movement within the Kaduna metropolis have been restricted.
Hawkers, commercial buses and various shops along Ahmadu Bello Way have remained closed following the traffic diversion.
A Track News correspondent in Kaduna observed that fierce security operatives were in strategic places, while shops were locked, and hawkers disappeared from the roadside.
Earlier, the Kaduna State Traffic Law Endorsement Agency (KASTLEA) issued a traffic advisory on road closures with alternative routes for members of the public.
In a statement issued and signed by Acting Corps Marshal, KASTELEA, Carla Abdulmalik, he said there would be road closures, and both sides of Constitution Road would be fully blocked to vehicular traffic until the end of the rally.
According to him, Independence Road will also be fully blocked until the end of the rally.
It added that WAFF Road and Sokoto Road from Government House would be temporarily blocked to vehicular traffic at various times during the event.
He said those wishing to have access to the rally should rather use the Ahmadu Bello Way onwards to the designated parking space in Maiduguri Road through Katsina Road
