Police refutes killing of 10 persons in Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has refuted the alleged killing of ten persons at Alkaleri Local Government Area by assailants where oil was found.
Police spokesman in the state, SP Ahmad Wakil, said the story is false and meant to cause confusion.
According to him, “The report could undermine efforts by the police and other security services to curtail crime in the state.”
He explained that the police command has recorded tremendous success in its fight against insecurity, especially around the Alkaleri axis, adding that there is normalcy in the area.
He stated that sequel to the inauguration of the Kolmani Oil Field, the command deployed more operational assets and intensified intelligence gathering, and visibility patrols to decimate activities of non-state actors in the area.
The police stressed the need for media organisations to always verify and be sure the reports are from credible sources for factual reportage
