Oyo lawmakers pass N310.4bn budget for 2023
Members of the Oyo State House of Assembly have passed a total of three hundred and ten billion, four hundred and thirty-two million, five hundred thousand naira (N310,432,500,000.00) as budget for the year 2023.
Track News reports that the budget was passed by the lawmakers on Thursday in Ibadan.
The plenary was presided over by the Speaker, Adebo Ogundoyin.
The 2023 budget proposal was presented to the lawmakers by Governor Seyi Makinde on the 3rd of November, 2022.
The lawmakers passed the budget after the presentations of the reports of the House Committee on Public Accounts, Finance and Appropriation headed by Akeem Mustapha.
Ogundoyin, who spoke shortly after the passage, commended his colleagues for painstakingly scrutinizing and working on the budget proposal.
He described the efforts as a collective sacrifice aimed at ensuring that the next fiscal year is better than the outgoing year.
Ogundoyin said, โWe worked round the clock, especially during the budget defence exercise held between the 16th November and 5th December, 2022 for Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Oyo State Government.
โWithout the commitment of the management and staff of the Assembly, not much would have been achieved. We appreciate everyoneโs contribution no matter how small
