2023: New constables to complement manpower needs of Nigeria Police – AIG
The Assistant Inspector General of Police for zone six, Okunola Kamaldeen has said the newly graduated constables from the Police Training School will complement their manpower needs in the forthcoming 2023 elections.
He made this disclosure when he was represented by the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba at the passing out ceremony of 560 new recruits.
Kamaldeen received and deployed the 2021 batch of recruit constables at the Police Training School Odukpani, Cross River State.
He added that the exercise is in line with the President’s directive for 10,000 new recruits every year across the 774 LGAs of the country to reposition the Force for effective service delivery.
In a statement signed by SP Nelson A. Okpabi, Police PRO zone six, the AIG said, “The recruits were trained on professional, legal and liberal studies to enable them carry out law enforcement, crime prevention/detection and preservation of law and order in the country.
“They are to be posted to their local government areas of origin to enhance the envisaged citizen-driven community policing approach of the Nigeria Police.”
The AIG concluded that the IGP is using the passing-out parade which took place simultaneously in four Premier Colleges and twelve Training Schools across the country to assure Nigerians of adequate security as they go about their lawful engagements.
