Banky W Countered After Raising Alarm Over ‘Vandalization Of Opposition Posters’
Jubril Gawat, the senior special assistant (SSA) to Lagos governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has debunked the ‘vandalization of opposition poster’ claim by Nigerian singer, Banky W who doubles as a politician, Banky W.
This comes after the singer via Instagram on Friday shared a video of his posters being destroyed.
In the video shared by the father of one, an unidentified man is seen stripping roadside posters with a spray.
Banky, who is vying to represent the Eti-Osa federal constituency in the house of representatives on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) further alleged that it was done by the opposition party.
“Evidence of what our opponents are doing to oppress our efforts.. but no matter how they try to tear us down, we get back up and keep going,” he wrote.
He also argued that his rivals can only try to bring him down but they will be “unsuccessful”.
“They can only try to bully and suppress us but it will not work. It is unfair, but it will be unsuccessful. Stand with us. Fight with us. Enough is enough,” he said.
“We have an election to win. Victory now loading.”
Responding to the video, Gawat, countered Banky’s claim by sharing another video of all posters been removed irrespective of the political parties involved.
He argued that the actor wasn’t the only politician affected in a video shared, “all the posters irrespective of the political parties were removed”.
He, however, did not give reasons for the removal.
