Osun Police confirms armed attack on Rector

Osun State Police Command has confirmed that Dr. Samson Akinbamide Adegoke, the Acting Rector of the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, was involved in an armed attack on Monday evening.
Yemisi Opalola, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, confirmed the attack on Monday
According to her, “Yes, we have heard about it. We are currently investigating it and we will soon fish out the culprits.”
Opalola stated that investigations to unravel the masterminds behind the attack were still ongoing.
Track News reports that unknown gunmen had attacked Adegoke, the Rector of the institution on Monday evening.
The armed attack occurred at Eti-Oni junction a few kilometres to the institution’s gate.
His vehicle was riddled with bullets.
It was also alleged that the attackers aimed for his life, however, he escaped unhurt.
Adegoke was appointed Rector of the institution by former governor Adegboyega Oyetola after the July election before his appointment was reversed to acting role
