Frank Nweke charges security agencies to arrest attackers of Ebonyi APGA guber candidate

APGA governorship candidate in Enugu, Frank Nweke, has tasked security agencies to fish out attackers of the convoy of the Ebonyi APGA governorship candidate, Bernard Odoh.
Mr Odoh’s convoy was attacked on February 2 by unknown gunmen, leading to the death of a driver and the disappearance of five others.
The incident happened in Okpoto, a community in Ishielu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Condemning the incident, Mr Nweke said, “My heart goes out to the entire team, the bereaved family and the families of the missing persons.
“May the Lord comfort you at this time and I pray that those missing are speedily found alive.”
The APGA candidate charged the security operatives to do all that was possible to fish out the perpetrators and ensure that they were duly punished.
“I am reliably informed that this is the sixth attack on Prof. Odoh’s campaign and this is dangerous and unacceptable.
“We must deter more violent actions for the remaining part of this election season. Our people deserve better than a mandate tainted with blood,” he said.
To the initiators of the acts, Mr Nweke said that no ambition was worth the life of any human being.
He asked them to use the legal system for seeking redress, saying, we have a democratic process that gives every contender equal opportunity to persuade the public of their candidacy.
“Therefore, we must desist from barbaric actions as a way of obtaining power and political positions.
“We must remain committed to an issues-based campaign.
“I consider this a form of respect to our electorates who are currently confronted with challenges that are too serious to be sidelined or compounded by propaganda, calumny and violence,” Mr Nweke said.
